WP Engine announced that WordPress co-founder and Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg, along with Gutenberg Lead Architect Matias Ventura, will participate in the company’s fourth annual virtual developer conference, DE{CODE}.
The event will broadcast across three global time zones and expects to attract over 5,000 attendees. WP Engine Chairwoman and CEO Heather Brunner stated: “We are truly honored to welcome Matt and Matias to DE{CODE}.”

The keynote will explore the rapid pace of technological innovation and what the next 20 years hold for WordPress. Mullenweg will reflect on drivers of WordPress’s success, while Ventura will share his vision for advancing the block editor experience. The discussion will address how WordPress maintains a free and open web while exploring digital trends including generative AI.
